Quercus ilex

A evergreen oak tree which makes an excellent specimen tree form a rounded canopy and can be clipped to form a large hedge. Leaves are holly-like with spiked edges. It is tolerant of salt winds. the acorns are edible, toasted or for flour and make good pig food. The wood is of good for many uses. Native to the Mediterranean region. 25m x 25m.
