Description
The Damson plum is self fertile, and bears very consistent heavy crops of fruit from a young age. The fruit is small and has a sweet/sharp flavour that lends itself to cooking, not eating fresh. When ripe they soften slightly and lose some of their white bloom to become a shiny purple colour.
Damsons ripen in late January through to mid February, and grow to a height of 5m.
