Corynocarpos laevigata “Karaka”

Large glossy dark green leaves look great on this hardy tree which grows to 10m. It will grow at the coast. The flesh of the large orange olive like fruit was once eaten by Maori but the large seed is poisonous. Wood pigeon eat the fruit and drop the seeds. Seed sourced from Waipu area.
